Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

Pat Dixon

Pat Dixon is a former Advanced Care Paramedic in ThunderBay. Pat is an accomplished paramedic with both land and air ambulance experience and had an EMS career that has spanned over 30 years. He has been off the job for over two years with a mental stress injury and has now re-entered the work force in a non-EMS profession. Throughout his entire career, Pat never received any type of education on how to deal with the traumas he was exposed to So, with the help of his psychologist as well as his occupational therapist, Pat has compressed two years of therapy into a powerpoint presentation which is under an hour. This presentation initially focused on coping skills for first responders and their family members. It is increasingly clear that these skills are applicable to everyone. From grade school to high school, or, when first entering the work force. How to cope with and process anxiety. Pat is very passionate about this topic and has spoken on numerous occasions in an online format over the 6 months.
I would like to invite you all to invest an hour of your time and hear what Pat has to say about how you can manage in the complex and demanding world. These skills are truly game changing because they have the power to decrease the anxiety in the entire household, after all thats what it did to his family.
