At this time, we are only offering virtual meeting options. To participate, please fill out the correct form below. We will send you information about the group, and the zoom meeting link within one week. We encourage you to sign up for our mailing list to receive updates and important information.

Burn Survivors Support Group (CBSC)

This group is run by the Canadian Burn Survivors Community, not Life After Burns (LAB). LAB helps facilitate administration to this support group.

This group provides a vital community for individuals who have experienced burn injuries. Both in-person gatherings and virtual meetups are led by facilitators with expertise in burn recovery.

When: Held bi-weekly on alternating Saturdays at 8am PST/11am EST and Wednesdays at 5pm PST/8pm EST.

Age: 18+

Cost: Free

Facilitator: Melissa Bonnell, Burn Survivor, Marriage and Family Therapist Associate, CCC, MAMFT, BSc. She is registered through the Canadian Association for Marriage/Couples and Family and the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.

What to Expect:

  • 8-20 people in attendance

  • Guided discussion on topics related to burn recovery, healing, and resilience

  • Some people attend regularly, while others drop in when they need support

  • Time to openly share and engage in supporting your peers

Loved Ones & Caregivers Support Group

The Loved Ones Peer Support Group is facilitated by Life After Burns for loved ones and caregivers of burn survivors, as well as emergency support workers who have secondhand trauma.

This group offers emotional support and practical advice. Participants discuss their journeys to gain insight and learn coping strategies in a compassionate environment. This supportive network empowers participants to navigate the complexities of caregiving and provide aid with confidence.

When: Held every last Thursday of the month at 4pm PST/7pm EST.

Age: 18+

Cost: Free
